Around 1968, when the first Japanese made passenger plane YS-11s were exported to foreign carriers in a rush, we saw YS-11s with a variety of paint schemes in Haneda. Piedmont Airlines is one of the best customers, who bought over 20 YS-11s.

日本初の国産旅客機YS-11の受注が順調に伸びていた昭和44年ころ。羽田にも輸出前のYS-11が色々な航空会社の塗装で現れた。ピードモント航空はYS-11納入先では最大手だったろう。USA東海岸をサービスする航空会社で確か20機以上が納入された。
